Johor Mersing Polytechnic (PMJ) in collaboration with Ministry of Internal Trade and Cost of Living (KPDNKK) Mersing District has organized the First Iftar and Monthly Assembly which is taking place at Surau Al-Irsyad, Mersing PolyTechnic.
The ceremony that started as early as 5.00 in the evening was joined by PMJ staff and students. Among the main fillings of this program is the Halal and Nutritious Food Awareness Advocacy Forum, which features two invited panels, namely Mr. Yusof bin Abdul Razak, Senior Environmental Health Assistant Officer from the District Health Office (PKD) Mersing, and Ustaz Mohammad Hanafie Khalis bin Zainal Abidin, an instructor from SMA Tahfiz Integrasi Al-Khairiah, Mersing. The forum exposed participants about the importance of choosing halal and nutritious food in everyday life.
The program was also celebrated with the ceremony of Khatam Al-Quran and the presentation of fidyah contributions was also held as a sign of concern for those in need.
The highlight of the program was Jamaie’s Iftar, where the attendees broke their fast together in a harmonious atmosphere. After that, the congregation also performed the Maghrib, Isyak prayers, and Tarawih prayers in a group, making this event more meaningful with spiritual filling.
This program not only strengthens the bond among PMJ citizens but also inculcates awareness about the importance of halal food, charity practices, and the observance of Ramadan with repentance. May programs like this continue to be organized in the future to strengthen ukhuwah and enrich the Ramadan experience for all those involved.
