October 15, 2024 the Caring Hands: Food for All program, part of the Social Responsibility Polytechnic initiative has taken place at the Mersing Polytechnic Lecture Hall. The program aims to help 50 students from the Commerce Department who are eligible to receive food assistance.
The “Caring Hands: Food for All” program is a continuation of the activity through the sales collection obtained during the Mersing Polytechnic Convocation Fair 2024 Organized by DSK5A students of the Commerce Department together with the Mersing Polytechnic Student Affairs Department to fulfill the requirements of the Event Management course.
The program is also held in conjunction with the World Food Day celebrated on October 16 every year with the theme, “Good food for all, for today and tomorrow,” reminding us of the importance of ensuring access to healthy and sufficient food for all. Besides that a brief talk on the importance of a balanced diet and sustainability of food sources was delivered by Ts Murugan A/L Krishnan, Manager of Smartgreen Mersing Polytechnic.
Also present to brighten up the ceremony is Mrs. Aryati binti Ramlan, PMJ’s Managing Representative, Mr. Junaini bin Abd Kadir, PMJ HEP Officer and Mr. Ariffuddin bin Husof, DSK Program Head. Hopefully through this effort, students not only get physical benefits, but also the knowledge that will help them in their daily lives.
